It's very rare to find the documentation in today's world, but my mom's bday is 9/23. If you search around in older publications, you'll find her bday classified as a Virgo. The woman is VIRGO personified! I can comfortably say this because I'm a Libra. She doesn't have one iota of Libra essence.

Congrats on the upcoming 100 Days!!!

Since you might be a morning person, have other sleep patterns changed? Like being in bed by 8pm isn't early, you party animals! Or naps = love?

I've run the gammet of sleep patterns, but a couple things have remained consistent...I require more sleep than the average human (no, I don't apologize for it). Also, naps keep me kind...on most days. 🙃😂

I'm in the same boat as your mom, but exactly one month later. Growing up, I whole-heartedly trusted the teen magazines that told me Scorpio season starts on the 23rd, but because of the cosmic alignment on my actual birthday I'm an anomaly and am somehow a triple Libra (thanks, Co-Star!). In retrospect this makes total sense but it was nonetheless v annoying to come to terms. lol

I also require a lot of sleep and you're right, there is no need to apologise for that! I read an article with Penélope Cruz in, like, idk Teen Vogue or People or something in the early 00s and she said she needed at least 9 hours of sleep and I thought that was really aspirational and, like being a scorpio, made being a good sleeper a big part of my personality. But I grew up in a night owl house and went to bed late and woke up late (or, whilst in school, as late as I could) until college, when I lived with a morning person and had a few blissful years of reading the NYT and drinking loads of coffee before going to my 8AM classes. So I think my ability to flip-flop from late to early riser is a bit of a nurture over nature thing - I am a product of my environment and right now it feels best to go to bed by 11 (ideally 10:30 but anything earlier than that feels insane) and wake up between 6:30 and 7:30, depending on the day. It's a real lifestyle change, though, and I'm absolutely useless now after 6PM.

Tell me about your naps - are you a sofa napper or do you get into bed? Do you use an alarm or let your body wake you up? Are they consistently happening at the same time every day or is it a bit more helter-skelter? I'm so curious!

Hi! I realized I may have over emphasized the word 'safe'. TBC, I've never been in a situation of sexual assault while sleeping. Even as a 'tween', I had a basic understanding of it's not ok to be touched without consent.

As far as safety for naps... My safety breaks down like this: 50% environmental &

50% people.

***I could never fall asleep in the car if my ex-husband & I were on a road trip, sleeping wasn't safe.

***I'm very much of an introvert & suck at small talk, so at party's where I barely know anyone and don't have my car, I've been known to go off to another room because my energy is gone. Sleeping & party's do not go together.

Being an Introverted Homebody has unique perks! 😂🎉😂🎉

Lol! I'm a flipflopper when it comes to being a complete night owl or in bed by 7pm. I've always blamed it on my inability to shut my brain off & what I'm doing. Anxiety plays a huge role. It's taken years, but I finally found a med that doesn't turn my brain my brain off, but it's like elevator Muzak at a very low volume.

OMGosh! I know exactly what you mean about nature v nurture. Everyone in my immediate family are early risers, except me...I can do it, but it's not at all natural. 😎

It wasn't until college that I met my Night Owl side...it was cuz of a dude (of course) 😳😂

However naps were very established in my life. As for naps, I have to be in a place I feel safe. Even for 15min power naps, if I don't feel safe, I can't fully sleep. I'm basically Linus from Charlie Brown, I need a good blanket & pillow, then I'm out. My naps can last a couple hours. If I have something going on, I'll set an alarm. If not, I'll my body decide. It's not a consistent time. Just whenever it hits.

My Dad, who IS a Virgo, is also a person who naps. I'm not sure if naps are hereditary or not. 💤💤💤

My brother is a napper, too. I think he's an Aires, not sure. I only know a couple star signs.

Now that you know & get more sleep, do you FEEL more productive? Have you proven yourself more productive?

I feel like Naps for Adults need to be championed! Get a Mascot, Team Colors, a spot at the Rose Bowl Parade!

I think some of the inability to nap comes from guilt. "I've got 48hrs to do every possible thing to keep my family life going & happy, my house physically not fall apart, & socialize with anyone I don't work with prior to starting over on Monday." I think Covid helped break that guilt trip.

(Speaking of which, I'm SO Sorry you've had Covid 3x's! YIKES!)

So glad I could help with your napquest! 💤💤💤😂

Here's to more naps in the future! 🐑❤🐑

So interesting! And I'd like to thank you for commenting this week as it inspired me to take two naps this weekend that were both ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

I've had covid three times in the last three years (womp-womp) and idk if it's just getting older or a very mild side-effect of having been sick so much but I definitely listen to my body more than I used to. If I feel tired, I make time to get the sleep I need. If I have a busy week, I block out my evenings so I won't max out my capacity. I'm really protective of my rest now, and that allows me to be the best version of myself that I can be. Quitting alcohol has definitely helped my productivity and rest, too, so I'm really glad that's all ticking along in the right direction.

Here's to more rest – whether it's a long evening snooze or a sofa nap - as we head into cozy szn!
